Make sure your virus protection is up to date. The buttons to check further information tried to attack my computer but Norton blocked it.

I emailed the company asking where the cuffs were made and told them about the virus attack.

WOW 44-100 dollars for a pair of cuffs for the bedroom Push button release(ha ha ha) You can get them cheaper at the sex shop.This is junk not for any type of real us, real handcuffs from smith & Wesson or peerless are less then 22 dollars from DHW and real.

You didn't read the description did you?

The tab is for double locking and not for releasing the bow.
This is why the key does not have the plunger pin. The heart shaped key does make it seem as if these were bedroom cuffs instead of enforcement use.
The bow is ditched and the body is riveted nicely too.

BUT, they do not seem to be NIJ approved, so police use is not recommended.
The description states that any one can legally own the cuffs and keys. No question about that. Apparently, Florida has a law prohibiting carrying handcuff keys if you are not in a proffesion which requires having handcuffs.

Smith and Wesson has a M&P model that double locks with a small tab at the chain.

I received this information from Push Button Cuffs in response to my inquiry:

"All of our chain handcuffs follow the JC-805 Chain Specifications. All of our Hinged Handcuffs follow the JC-809 Specifications. They are made in Las Vegas, NV."

The virus problem occurred when I clicked on the links in the text.

I guess that when Hiatts already tried their push button double lock handcuff design it's only new to someone who wasn't aware that this isn't "new" or "revolutionary"? Sorry but this wheel was already invented and didn't work for law enforcement. Despite the change of hands with respect to the ownership of Hiatt and their copyrights, I would imagine that a case against you for possible infringement could be made.


Lacking NIJ criteria for law enforcement, the previous failure of this design and when the public can already purchase a better product numerous sources, I doubt these will ever be a commercial success. Certainly you'll have limited interest from collectors and it is interesting that they are made in the USA.

Factually it isn't perfectly legal for civilians to own handcuffs everywhere in the US. It is illegal to possess handcuffs in The City Of New York. Laws of New York: § 10-147 Possession of handcuffs

And in PA you must be 18 years of age to be in possession of handcuffs.

I'm surprised that prior to this marketing campaign that anyone would make claims that are not based upon known and easily verified facts. Blanket statements without researching the facts is never a good idea in marketing and generally will prove that you lack credibility.

Sorry for thinking it was your site, it is all sites even the Forum. I will post this information and if this can not be fixed will stop using Firefox as my browser."

Well this cuff will never sell if its like the hiatt 2020,3020..etc the push buttons get pushed while trying to handcuff a suspect (and any police officer knows most suspects don't want to go quietly) so you now have a bigger problem,having to unlock the cuffs before you can get them on him again.This was not a good system and I know a few officers that bought the hiatt push button handcuffs and thought it would be great not to have to use there key to double lock but found out they keep hitting the push button locks so they went back to the regular smith & Wesson and peerless handcuffs

I agree, not good.

If you accidentally push the button and the cuffs are not locked tight enough then you are at a disadvantage
If the cuffs are too tight, and the button is pushed, then you have an extra step to perform and some explaining at your trial of abuse of power and other civil rights violations.
