Houdini-Reno cuffs?

A pair of gaffed Houdini handcuffs that Houdini is said to have sold to The Great Reno in 1908 sold on eBay over the weekend for $3,700.

Wondering what you guys thought of these. I've posted the auction description, etc., on my blog here:

Unless I have the chance to evaluate them, I won't appove of them. I know handcuffs and my opinion is the one you should follow. I need to see these handcuffs to determine the value. I was on TV so people know about me. I can spot a fake a mile away and my evaluation is always right.

I modified a pair just like them for a fellow collector here for a lot less about 5 years ago. I hope he can sell them for the same.
