I've always been fascinated by the collecting bug and was curious to see what else any of you collect.

I for instance collect handcuffs and that's probably my most vast collection but I also have a small but growing collection of watches. Got several really nice writing instruments (pens) and was really into that until I lost a Montblanc pen at work.

What else do you collect?

I've been collecting miniature cars all my life. I currently have many of the James Bond movie cars, tuk tuk, helicopters, etc.

Locks, keys, railroad artifacts, fire pull boxes & alarms, Lego sets, maps, fireman's tools, bicycles, vintage hand tools, vintage railroad track repair tools, school bus door operators (mechanical), unusual telephone & meter equipment, vintage burglar alarm components. (knives & nautical hooks & snaps used to be on the list, but I lost intrest in them)

Over the past year i've been tryin to upgrade my lights to led but it always seems like shortly after i get the light they come out with a brighter version of the same thing. Just can't win lol.

I collect, what I dig out with my metal detector, e.g. coins, buttons, buckles or cannonballs.

And, no, I did not dig out any handcuff so far - but some fellow detectorists did.

Hi,

I was fortunate to see Guenter's artifacts from his findings and let me say, he has a hell of a collection of super gold and silver coins, American aircraft parts, and tons of musket balls (one of which I display in a nice display case) and all kinds of military things.

His display room rivaled that of any museum that I have been to....and then there was the handcuffs too.

Thanks again Guenter and Petra for your hospitality. I think about my trip to Bavaria with great fondness every day.

B-17 memorabilia, King Kong (1933) ephemera, Titanic, Charles Schulz 'Peanuts' memorabilia, Stuff about Ray Harryhausen, books of quotations.
Old time escape artist stuff if that isn't too close to handcuff collecting. :D

Every square inch is filled with amazing magic tricks and memorabilia.
Even the work shop area is filled with antique and very modern computer generated magic trick making equipment.

Guenter, I failed to mention that my musket ball was from the Napoleonic Wars. I will have to show you a pic of it in my display case as well as my piece of Munich sidewalk.

As a "nerd (?)", I am more interested by "scientific" products, natural (shells, minerals, some fossils) or "technologic" : old electronic/electric items (valves, chips, ...), plus "cultural" items : sci-fi books, videogames, ...
Handcuffs are arrived later, thanks to eBay. But I begin to lack space ... Life is not easy

I will never get over the fact that you can find such cool historical artifacts in your backyard. The best I might find is an arrowhead or an old bottle.

Pretty much anything that strikes my interest. I collect metal disentanglement puzzles, wooden puzzles, magic tricks, and most notably
anything pertaining to escape artists and Houdini, Locks and keys, safe locks, and tools. Houdini is my first passion, with handcuffs
second. I'm always willing to trade handcuffs for good Houdini items, so keep that in mind. John
