Sir Arthur Conan Doyle couldn't have dreamt up such a cloaked restraining device. Holmes will be as still as a 1980 record store display.

Back when I was a J.H.S. student, our Social Studies teacher related what he witnessed as an alternate juror on the Manson Family trial. He explained how after lunging at the judge with a sharpened pencil, Mr. Manson was chained to his seat for the duration of the proceedings. They didn't allow the trial to be filmed back in '70---as has become common practice in high profile cases these days. In lieu of this, the media was allowed to print sketches of key intervals throughout the trial.

Tried on unrelated charges, are Manson Family members Lynette Fromme ("Red") and Sandra Good ("Blue") linked together with Smith & Wesson 94s here?

Another news story on this says the anchoring cable will blend in with computer cables at the defense table. The judge does not want any conspicuous restraint that the jury would notice but apparently feels Holmes is a threat to disrupt the proceedings if not restrained.
