Marlin Bottleneck Keys

Hello I'm a first time poster and a new collector so i hope that this isn't a stupid question. Last week i found what I thought was a Marlin Bottleneck key in an ebay junk key lot. When it came in the mail yesterday I noticed that the key was larger then the key I have for my cuffs and they do not fit. The Marlins that I have are the 1910 swivel link.

My question is, is this key for the earlier large Bottleneck cuffs or are they for something different all together? If this isn't a Marlin key does anyone know what this key opens. I added pics below. Thanks.

I believe the key you acquired in the lot is a Taylor replacement handcuff key.

Most of these keys were cast oversize and meant to be cut / filed / drilled / and sized down to fit their intended type of handcuffs.

Hi Glenn, Maxwell is right.
Taylor company made key blanks for several handcuffs, these were sand cast and the pattern was oversize to allow room for the molten metal to flow.

The keys are made of malleable iron and break easy. The hole required in the marlin key is deep and the walls thin.
