Peerless Question

Does anybody know what peerless changed in the lock mechanism from the 700b to the 700c?

Why do they keep redesigning their lock design every year? I have a 'b' set and they work fine.

I believe the b series just had a different spring so the cuffs weren't so stiff to ratchet out of the box. The new c series is described to have a new redesigned locking mechanism to make them more tamper resistant. I do have to say that from my experience, the c model is somewhat more difficult to pick than the previous 700b and the regular 700. I'm just curious to know what was changed in the lock design to make it more tamper proof.

I have also noticed and have said before that peerless' quality control has gone downhill. I don't know if it's a way to cut costs or what. The edges on the newer cuffs aren't rounded like the older ones and the middle frame piece isn't flush with the cheek plates anymore either. All just ways to save them money on manufacturing probably, meanwhile the products suffer in the process. Peerless used to be a good looking handcuff back in the day, now i think they look like they were made in Taiwan.

Yeah, nothing beats the 300 series & earlier. I don't think we'll ever see those days again. Just like my treasured Smith & Wesson Model 90's, they'll never make those again either. Really a disappointment.
