Unknown handcuffs, possibly British

Hi everyone,

this morning the postman brought me a belated Christmas present, please see pictures below:









The handcuffs are made of aluminum, also the pawl is made from that metal, they take a solid key, the springs are extremely strong. The moveable bows have additional loops, possibly for attaching a lead-chain. The lockcases are not riveted but closed by tiny screws.

As I received the cuffs from Great Britain I assume that they were manufactured there, also the link-swivel-link connection is a typical British feature, but actually I have no idea, which company could have made this model. Does anyone have any information on this handcuff?

It looks like some kind of prototype to me. Exposed screws? and no markings?

The swivel on these looks to me pretty like the type Hiatt used on their model 1960. Maybe Hiatt were experimenting with a better design, and these were a prototype.

Those are definitely cool! I would never let them go.

The prototype theory seems to make some sense in that both sides are left-handed (Or is that right handed?).
