How do you plan on shipping these? Will they be insured so if they get lost in the mail or damaged which I understand is rare will you refund the money to the winning bidder? All basis should be covered considering the money that will be spent.

I was the one lucky/crazy/dumb enough to win the Kimball. I received a call from the seller at 12:10 p.m. notifying me that I have some explaining to do to my wife. In regards to the price, it was more than a tower double lock and a lot less than the Houdini water torture cell. I will be sure to share photos and such when they arrive which I anticipate will be mid next week.

Glad the cuffs have gone to a good home,well done Joshua. I have been thinking about my collection and have several old handcuffs that take the same key but are much older than 1860 probably 1820's, I would consider trading one of these for the Kimball cuffs, let me know if interested!!

Thanks guys for the congratulatory statements. My collection is rather small but I'm certainly very excited to add a piece of this rarity to it. I'm not opposed to a trade but it would likely have to consist of 4 wheels with low mileage and pre date my birth by quite a few years. Perhaps a red one in Chicago would do I am intrigued though Chris about the cuffs you're speaking of...do you have a bar cuff in your collection? I'm totally speculating on the dates you referred to.

Thanks again guys and I'm hoping to bring the Kimball to Indy for a conversational piece if all works out.

To the "anonymous" lucky/crazy/dumb person who's gonna be bringing these to Indy; What makes you think anyone wants to even see something so mass-producingly common? Something so plainly boring? Something most collectors have doubles & triples of in their collections? Something less visually attractive than a pair of dollar store toy Takeda style cuffs made of pot-metal with a quick release? PLEASE spare us serious collectors the shame of being in the same room as these dime-a-dozen crappy cuffs and PLEASE LEAVE THEM AT HOME!!! In fact, leave them outside in the mailbox, and e-mail me your address and the time you plan to leave for Indy. On an unrelated note: I might be a little late myself this year for Indy due to a umm? a... Uhh, a detour, yeah, that's it, a detour!

Joshua, sorry but the bar cuffs are not for trade, the ones I am talking about are sort of D shaped with a chain linkage, a friend of mine has an old 1960 mini for sale it's needs a bit of TLC but it is red. You would need to pay for shipping!!
