The name might be back but not the pride and respect.
I think they are just cashing in on the age of the Hiatt name for cred.

Using the word 'handfuffing' (sic) in the second paragraph is very very uncool.

Safariland sounds like a kids toy and not butch at all.
They should drop that name and keep Hiatt only.

Safariland has been in business for about 50 years and is best known for their leather holsters and their body armor.

The "Hiatt handcuffs" seem to be a rather recent acquisition, but their oversized stainless steel handcuff key has been around for a long time and the quality is spot-on:

I wouldn't buy a Hiatt unless it was over 100 years old anyway.
I thing Safariland sounded too much like Sexyland, a chain of adult stores.

The corporate world is an evil beast. They will pimp out and sell their name to the highest bidder.

Most of us here know this, but unfortunately most of the general public does not.

There are tons of examples of this, and it is not just Hiatt's (I do own a NIB "real" pair of Hiatt's, for what it's worth)...

American Lock? Lolz... Anything but American. Made in China and Mexico after Master Lock bought them.

And Master Lock? Lolz... Anything but Milwaukee, Wisconsin after free trade gave rise to Mexico and China for production.

I could fill this page with what once was, and will never be again, but I personally know in the whole scheme of things it would make no difference... For those in power, the machine is working exactly as they want it to...
