The fact that he was a civil war veteran is not new, and can be found somewhere here in these archives, but don't let that stop you from digging around and learning more about our hobby which stimulates more discussion. I have "re-discovered" plenty of things myself and sometimes find something new. Anything new will surely be acknowledged - and sometimes challenged. It is also possible to disprove or clarify long held beliefs with a little research.
There are always new members coming along who don't know who Alfred Delestasius was, and his connection with Andrew Rankin, and so the information is lost on them, or they just don't care. It's like me not caring about what serial numbers are on a S&W.
Many are not interested in learning about the people and companies which made the cuffs, but that does not give them the right to "put-down" or discourage you from sharing the information. I am always eager to here what anyone has discovered or researched.
