I found a 40lb ball the other day, while metal detecting a Civil War Era church in Ridgeland SC. This church was one of 2 left standing after Sherman marched through the area. Unfortunately, I am unable to get my picture to upload. I did find an almost exact match for my ball on Ebay. The only difference is my ball does not have a protrusion on top of the post. The ball is soaking in an electrolysis solution to remove small amounts of rust and solidified dirt.
