I just got a note from Chris Patzer of the Discount Handcuff Warehouse. The Peerless 100th Anniversary Handcuffs will be arriving on Wednesday. They are taking orders now. Be the first kid on your block to have one.

We've sure been waiting a long time for these. Looks like they laser etched the Peerless logo on them. I was kinda hoping for filed rivets, though. I'm tempted to take a metal file and saw away myself.

Numbers 1-50 have been reserved for the Peerless people.
Chris at Handcuff Warehouse has 51 on up.
The cuffs will be with a new commemorative box and the finish on the cuff is special.
It is either extra chrome or nickel plated to a high luster.

The reciprocal logo is added and probably is laser etched.
I was hoping for a special version or a retro model 1 cuff but it is what it is.

Get them while they're available.
Any one in Europe need one?

I was hoping to get serial number 8. I have 008 in the 5th anniversary cuff, so I thought it would be awesome to have that serial number in the 100th anniversary as well. I guess I'm just not that lucky.

I believe Chris has the ability to ship to other countries as an exporter.
Feel free to contact him about all the particulars regarding this.

If this won't work, this alternative solution is offered. A friend of mine from Europe will be visiting me soon and she will be bringing several of these cuffs back home with her at the end of September.
She can mail them to those that need any cuffs. She would need to be paid in advance, however.
Please do a search on postal rates from Amsterdam to your town and add this to the cost of the cuffs ($44.00 which INCLUDES the shipping from Chris's shop to my house in San Diego).

Just received my sets, from handcuffwarehouse.com they look great.
It appears, that Peerless spent a lot more time on these. nice smooth edges.
the finish is very nice. laser etching looks great. Nice to see the logo.
they should put the Logo, on all there cuffs. don't know why they dropped it.

The 95th aniv cuffs were gold plated - these are "just" heavily chromed.

I agree these are very nice. with heavy Chrome or Nickel finish.
received 2 sets. numbers 64,65... #65 will stay in it's box. Keep it like new.

as for the 95th anniversary cuffs. sorry to tell you Yossie, there Not gold plated.
they are a gold color. maybe the same process they used, for there color plated.

Kinda wish Peerless would have "broke the mold" on the 100yr celebration model, and maybe produced a model 1 or even a 400 style. I get the logic behind their extra chrome plating and etching on the already produced 700's. They did a nice job on the throwback box though for sure. Oh well, mine are due to arrive any day now too..

With each new model edges are becoming more and more acute. Now they are similar as in Spanish, Chinese and Russian handcuffs. Cheapening is more important than care.

It wouldn't be hard for counterfeiters to slap the round ratchet logo on a pair of 700's and call them "Limited Edition."

Lot's of people made a killing on those Winchester WN-40 cuffs when they first came out, marketing them as a resurrected cuff coming out of the dusty shop of Winchester Arms Co. New Haven, CT.

Peerless can keep them.

The Winchester cuffs were NOT made by Winchester Firearms Company in New Haven , Conn.
They were made by Tactical Steel Company in Chicago in a clean factory with written permission by Winchester

I see 700L over another set over my regular set of 700's. I see the bottom rivet on both sets of my 700L has distinct tooling marks on the bottom rivet all over the metal unlike my regular 700's. Apparently made in the USA although it was neglected to engrave Made in USA on the other side also

Just what are the facts:
The box says MADE IN TAIWAN (does that mean the box was made in TAIWAN????
The box says Tactical Steel Products,Inc. ADDRESS is in GURNEE,IL.
No where on the cuffs is TAIWAN stamped
On the reverse of each cuff is stamped Tactical Steel Products CHICAGO, IL. USA
So what are the true facts ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Many people think I died many years ago, but I assure you that I am alive and kicking in Southern California at 131 years young.
I gave up on all that time/space jazz and am now spending time with my great grand children and took up cuff collecting.

Yes, when I pointed out the Chicago marking on my Winchester Handcuffs, I made an assumption that they were made in Chicago. The anonymous troll (AKA The Gnat who has a much lower IQ than mine, relatively speaking) has pointed out that it wasn't made in Chicago.

I know the company is no longer in business, so I may have to invent my time machine and go back a dozen years to ask the manufacturer why the cuffs are marked "Chicago" when the factory was supposedly located within an entirely different community's borders. Shame on them for misleading me.

Winchester WN-40 is the same model as Chicago Model X55. And you can also find them as "NS3000" by a company called "New Season Industrial Corp." – and I think that this is the real manufacturer:

I thought it was an accepted fact that the Winchester cuffs were made in Taiwan and are the same as the Chicago X55. Didn't the handcuff warehouse have a blog entry detailing this a few years back?

Anyway, is the limited edition Peerless cuffs more rounded off or just polished?

Got mine, and granted they're not much different from the basic 700's, they're still worth picking up. It's like buying a VW Jetta GLI and comparing them to the standard GLS, for those German car enthusiasts. It seems like Peerless spent more time with doing the "little things" when applying the detail that normally is overlooked in mass-produced cuffs. For example, ensuring lettering is straight, not crooked, etc. Not to mention, picking up a pair wont break the bank either for a collectible in the future...

How many times do you see anyone "cowereing and quivering" when being detained and arrested by any handcuff type, brand or mfg? It's NOT the handcuff maker, model #, etc that someone would care about, it's the situation surrounding the arrest that impacts the detainee's reaction. On any cop shows, you never see the guy or girl saying "hey don't arrest me with those Smith & Wesson Model 94's, please, I'll only willingly cooperate if they're Peerless Model 300's!" So the mockery of handcuff brand is an irrelevant point to this post.

PS got mine today, serial number #57 and I love them...nicer than I expected they would be. Nice mirror finish and nice retro box too. There, now I posted something RELEVANT to the discussion. Special congratulations to Peerless for 100 years of "setting the standard", and I would especially like to thank them for making MYSELF safer when dealing with dangerous criminals on a daily basis since 1997. I've always said, "the fight isn't over until the handcuffs are put on" when dealing with combative/assaultive prisoners. Thanks Peerless!!

Number 1 through 50 was reserved for the Peerless management and staff.

Number 100 would have been available and I wish I thought of it.

Number 95 of the 95th Anniversary cuff is obtainable. This cuff does not belong to me but if anyone has interest in it, contact me and I will help you get it.
