On 12 May 2010, Mrs. Maria Bögerl was abducted from her house in Heidenheim Baden-Wuerttemberg and subsequently killed.

The Ulm Police Department Criminal Investigation Division / “Flagge” special investi-gation task group (for more information please refer to the internet) is conducting the investigation of this case.

When committing the offense, the perpetrator(s) used handcuffs brand name BIANCHI. The original is with the police. The handcuffs bear the inscription “BIAN-CHI”, and on the back of one of the hinges there is the word “Taiwan”.
No other identifiers or serial numbers can be found on the handcuffs.

These handcuffs were manufactured in Taiwan and distributed by Co. Trenco Prod-ucts Inc., San Diego/California, from 1980 to 1993.

We do not have any information on the channels of distribution, nor do we know where these handcuffs are from.

So far we have only been able to identify BIANCHI handcuffs with the additional identifiers “MODEL 505” or “STAINLESS STEEL”.

Having lived most of my life in San Diego, I remember the large Bianchi facility in Temecula (30 minutes away from me on I-15) but never heard of any cuffs "distributed by Co. Trenco Prod-ucts Inc., San Diego/California".

As you stated above : "The handcuffs bear the inscription “BIAN-CHI”.

I am puzzled by your repetitive use of the dash in "Prod-ucts, inveti-gation and most importantly, Bian-chi".

The Bianchi cuffs as pictured are the dime a dozen that all of us bought when starting off collecting handcuffs but there is no cuff that I have seen that has the dash. I will assume that the dash usage is an error and you are not looking for a "Bian-chi" cuff.

As the sale of these cuffs are not restricted in any way, they were sold all over the world through the internet, sporting good stores, army surplus shops, magic stores and other places and not serial numbered, it will be very difficult to know who bought these cuffs through any company records.

The owner of the cuff you are looking for may also have purchased it from Taiwan or through many suppliers in that area.
Just because Trenco was located here does not mean the item was ever shipped to the US.
They could have been drop-shipped to Germany from Taiwan.

It could that your bad guy knew that these cuff were hard to trace and sought them out versus other cuffs made in Europe that would have made your job easier.

„SOKO Flagge“ is investigating the murder case mentioned above by DNA-profiling. Police invited all men between 21 and 68 of age in particular towns for providing their saliva samples. Participation was explicitly stated "voluntary" according to law. Most men followed the invitation but several hundreds did not. Although no reasonable ground for suspecting is available against anybody the “deniers” (so called by police and medias) were pressured by police who tries to get judical orders required to force the remaining men into taking part. In short, police is going to force people to prove innocence which imo violates law. Judical order only can be done in case of individual suspician which mustn’t have anything to to with the denial.

I live about 80 km (50 miles) west of the location of the investigation. On 12 May 2010, Mrs. Maria Bögerl was abducted from her house in Heidenheim Baden-Wuerttemberg and subsequently killed.

The Ulm Police Department Criminal Investigation Division / “Flagge” special investi-gation task group (for more information please refer to the internet) is conducting the investigation of this case.

When committing the offense, the perpetrator(s) used handcuffs brand name BIANCHI. The original is with the police. The handcuffs bear the inscription “BIAN-CHI”, and on the back of one of the hinges there is the word “Taiwan”.
No other identifiers or serial numbers can be found on the handcuffs.

These handcuffs were manufactured in Taiwan and distributed by Co. Trenco Prod-ucts Inc., San Diego/California, from 1980 to 1993.

We do not have any information on the channels of distribution, nor do we know where these handcuffs are from.

So far we have only been able to identify BIANCHI handcuffs with the additional identifiers “MODEL 505” or “STAINLESS STEEL”.

We are very interested in finding out more about such handcuffs and therefore kindly ask the “network54.com” users for their assistance:

-Has anybody ever seen handcuffs such as the ones used to commit the of-fense? Can anybody furnish information on the channels those handcuffs were sold or distributed through?

-Can a member of this forum provide information, or does anybody possess such handcuffs without any additional identifiers?

Anybody furnishing information which leads to the identification and apprehension of the perpetrator(s) may be entitled to receive a reward in the amount of 14.000 € offered by private sources and a reward in the amount of 16.000 € offered by the state prosecution office.
