Nope. Not buying it.

The article was full of content that did not in any way address high security locking mechanisms.

Good luck trying a 3d printed bump key on Medeco, Abloy, etc, etc.

The bump technique is only for standard pin tumbler configurations. The article is not going to address what locks you cannot bump (like you mention) It's the spin factor. It might work making one or a few keys (for different profile and brands) on a 3D printer but most of this stuff is for show. it's no great threat as the method has been around for a while now and lock makers have for the most part done something to resist the method.

There are 3D printers which produce solid metallic objects by laser sintering of metal powder. Such method can be used to produce a copy of complex key from a set of photo. But these 3D printers are expensive.
