help needed in Germany

DO any of you guys live in Köln (Cologne) Germany and would be willing to pick up a cuff or help me pay for it. The eBay seller does not have PayPal (which I thought you had to). I'm just trying to avoid big bank fees for international transfers.
Any assistance or advice is appreciated.

It is very strange when seller in Europe don't want to open PayPay account. Probable reason previous problem with this payment service.

You may be right. The persons elderly mother doesn't see the advantage of Paypal, and I can understand their concern linking your bank account to the interwebnets or whatever it's called.

Maybe it's because paybuddy takes a certain bite out of every payment that is made, whereas when you pay with a 2-day bank transfer you have no other fees?

You guys don't have that system in the States. We got rid of cheques here 20 years ago.

Uncle Scrooge is absolutely right! Our European bank tarnsfer system is easy and excellent. Last time when I sold a Horst Moabit and was paid by PayPal, these guys took EUR 15.05 of my EUR 300 total. If I would have been paid by European bank transfer, no fees would have been subtracted.

In case of international bank transfer bank fee is paid by buyer and in case of EU300 will be about EU30

@Rasperius: it depends on the credit institute and the destination country. When I transfer money to one of the 34 European SEPA-Countries I pay no fees at all.

It was a scarce Hiatt 1960 with bit key instead of round key. I've seen a few in South Africa. Not sure where they were sold.

Nice find.
There were 2 of these at the convention.
I have mine listed as a prototype and am now thinking that they were issued out in small quantities.
Please share what you know about these.

The pair that I am yet to receive are marked HIATTS 1960 on one bow, BRITISH MADE, MARK 2 on the other bow.
95% plating still intact. No key.
Sorry to the person I bid against!
I have see one pair on this Forum numbered 004, yours number 003, one well used pair sold in South Africa very cheaply and I think the other pair I've seen was in New Zealand. I'm sure there must be more around which you know about.
I wonder whether the former British colonies were used as dumping grounds for dud models!

Hello fellow collectors,

one of the pieces at the Con, which Mark mentioned above, is from my collection. I guess it's identical to Paul's. The key on the picture is from a Czech RALK, but works.

May I ask the final price of Paul's 1960 Mark 2, cause I missed the auction but I am curious about the value of this model?

Hi Guenter,

These Hiatt sold for 176 Euro, I know as I was the second highest bidder. I already have one set without stampings.
The set on German eBay is similar to yours, with stampings.

Here is an interesting photo from a previous Euro Convention, these cuffs belong to Chris Gower.One of them is similar to your's but the other set has a key post. That's a really odd variation and i don't know of any other.
Basically, the Hiatt 1960 is a very poor cuff but these are interesting variations.

Paul, now you have a good photo of the key you have to make for your cuffs. Also my key is not the original, I made it myself.
