I have a pair on the way (in the mail). I'd be happy to share my thoughts on them when they arrive. Two years ago I sent an email to both Peerless and S&W advising them that if they made a lightweight handcuff they would sell thousands of them to those who are in law enforcement. Currently, I carry almost 40lbs of gear if you add my belt, boots and bullet-resistant vest. What really sucks is the stuff on the belt because when you run, those items especially become less secure and move up and down. It's high time that we got some lighter cuffs. They aluminum batons and aluminum alloy-framed pistols have been on the market for well over a decade. I explained that the carbon steel cuffs would still be good for prisoner escorts, but that the "street cops" could certainly use something lighter. My prediction is that S&W will make their own version shortly and that the Peerless aluminum cuffs will sell like crazy once those who are in law enforcement notice that they are available. Of course the true test is to use these lightweight handcuffs on a prisoner who is high on drugs and see if they don't fall apart or bend.

Well the 730C's arrived in the mail today and I'm impressed. These may just be the biggest innovation in handcuffs since the hinged handcuff model was designed. Lightweight, yet strong. The weight difference is noticeable- and they would make great handcuffs for the plainclothes officer, air marshal, or person who needs to carry more than one pair but doesn't want to get bogged down with too much steel. The handcuffs I received were perfect- nice smooth action, counter sunk double lock pins which are easy to operate and make a nice snap sound when pressed. I like the stainless steel post in the key way to make it more easier to locate with your key (the pair I have is black). They will obviously be more rust resistant than the carbon steel variety, and I've seen many handcuffs ruined by rust, from neglect and also from using harsh cleaners to clean them and leaving them in the cleaner too long. There are some steel parts, which appear to be the chain, swivels, rivets and pawl when checked with a magnet, so obviously you have to look after them somewhat or those parts can rust. They fit well into a C&S security black box, same as all the model 700's do. I'm impressed, and when the law enforcement community sees these they will sell. Even at $38, they will sell. Also, the construction is far better than the ASP cuffs I've seen other officers use, and they don't have any plastic parts. Great job Peerless!!!

First thing after removing from the box was the weight not much more than a television remote and first impression it didnt feel much more impressive than the plastic of the remote itself but realizing it wasnt plastic but a more unique ceramic feeling. The double lock couldn't have given a more reassuring click, more impressive than the 700 & 700L in my possession. At first I was afraid to put any stress for fear of tearing these things apart If it were not for the cold feeling and clunking of some metal my hands would tell me these are certainly plastic but the more I tugged and yanked the more I'm impressed to have a very solid feel and incredible smooth action but dang they have a good quality feeling for something I didnt initially expect to feel

My set is grey, They seem to be as light as Smith and Wesson 926, I let my buddy a State trooper borrow them, he will be replacing his 2 sets of 100s with 2 lightweight peerless. They hold up against people who do not want them on. I am glad Chris Patzer talked Peerless into making them, also peerless does a better jobthan Smith andWesson on bluing all of the handcuff and rivets, Smith and Wesson Melonite, M&P blued they keep rivets unblued, Peerless blues cuff and rivets. Awesome cuff.
