Just a quick note to let you know I won't be able to attend this year's Lock Show. I am really bummed that I am going to miss the show's "new digs."

Just made my reservations and the hotel was very nice to work with. Caution if you use the link posted above, it brings up the wrong hotel. The best way is just call and then if a map is needed use their main web page or another mapping site.

In all honesty, Indianapolis isn't really a convenient location for me. Because it is tied in to the lock collectors show it is always in April when time off work is difficult to get. The hotel was a real dog, although they are now at new digs so maybe that will improve. If I am going to fly I would rather go to Chicago or back to Ontario or even LA itself.
The lock collectors group have always welcomed us, but I feel that they really don't get us that well, and any type of collectors show would do just as well.
Still, majority rules, and I gave it a pass last year for the above reasons, and will continue to do so.
I'm sure we can all meet somewhere else.

As always, I will be there along with the family. The Indy lock show for me is one of the highlight moments year in and year out. Not so much for the cuffs or locks, but solely for social aspect. Its the only place where I can spend a weekend talking about restraints without getting a funny look, someone is always doing a magic trick that leaves me baffled, I'm constantly laughing in a near uncontrollable fashion...more and more as the drinks multiply and the night gets longer, and no matter how little sleep I get I cant wait to get down stairs to start it all over again. There is zero debate that the Cannon's convention was by far a better venue and event that will likely never be matched. Many of us have discussed in great length about trying to put on such an event, but once you run the figures the sum of money it would take and time is truly baffling. Don't get me wrong, I'm always down for such an event anytime in the future but you'd have to find someone very dedicated and motivated to make that happen. In the meantime, take Indy as it is, see/buy some cuffs, come join in the entertainment. If you absolutely cant make it and you really want to get the best bang for your buck then I strongly urge all to attend the Euro Convention next year...one of the best trips of my life!
