First the guy lists the alleged former owner's entire prison career (no tie-in to Alcatraz), then gueses about the type of cuffs used on the island, but will sign the C.O.A. himself to personally attest that he is clueless as to how or where they were actually used. THANK GOD! cause without the C.O.A, I woulda thought only Houdini owned them. Too bad he aint got one in better shape, 'cause I'm looking to spend TWO million!

The H&R cuffs are marked Pat. Pend. The patent was issued in December 1934, which implies they were made and used prior to this date.
The three prisons, Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary was active from 1934 to 1963; Yuma Territorial Prison from 1876 to 1909; and was replaced by the Arizona State Prison, at Florence, AZ in 1909 to the present time.
The time period for the cuffs fit the Alcatraz and AZ prisons. However, the markings on the cuffs do not. I have never see a real marking for Alcatraz but I doubt if it would be AZ. There is a good chance the USP is United States Penitentiary and the AZ is Arizona but I have not found anything here in AZ to prove this.
In any case, even if the cuffs were solid gold, the price is and COA is way out of proportion.

I'd like them verified before I tried to sell them. They have a very well-done stamp. IF they are a fake, they are done well. The stamp is uniform, and the cuffs seem to be the make and model issued to the government long ago.
The stamp is small, and the quality of work is what makes me think they are real.
