Civil War Leg Irons

It seems some leg irons were brought up from the sunken Civil War Iron Clad CSS Georgia. Pretty cool stuff.

Wow, that is really interesting. The good old bilbo is there and the other will be interesting to see when cleaned up. A pity they did not show an xray of it. Looks a lot like what we call a puzzle lock hobble but until we get a better look I wouldn't stick my neck out too far. I would not expect to find a Lilly Iron on a Confederate ship though.

Please read further into the article. They do indeed show an X-Ray of the irons.

I meant they need an Xray of the first one. Looking at it again, and the shape of the bow, it could be similar to a Tower with a short chain.
