Newbie Here!

Hi everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been into handcuffs and other similar restraints since I was at least seven years old. I used to go through so many pairs of those cheap tin handcuffs that you can find at Wal-Mart, and I enjoyed playing cops and robbers and what not. I currently own replicas of darby style leg irons and two pairs of darby style handcuffs, all of which have the antique rust look to them. I also have a cheap pair of standard issue handcuffs with one of the double lock push pins broken on one cuff, and I just recently bought a pair of S&W model 300 hinged cuffs.

If you have an eBay account, that's a good place to get a collection started. If you don't have an eBay account, you can still look at the listings to see what's out there. Go to www.ebay.com Just put Handcuff* in a search box and you'll get lots of listings for 'handcuff' and 'handcuffs'. The * is a wildcard in case someone leaves the letter s off. Same goes for Leg iron*. This will pull up 'leg iron' and 'leg irons'. Most of the better listings don't have a space in 'handcuffs' and do have a space in 'leg irons'.

Hi Newbie! I have a couple of questions for you....are you interested in only collecting handcuffs or do you wish to persue the escape artist field as well? Do you have an interest in performing magic, lock picking, or any other related activities? Mike

I'm mainly interested in collecting them, don't care much for escape tricks. I am glad to know that I'm not the only one fascinated with handcuffs and other restraints.

Jon, I guess you don't have to do escapes or magic to love handcuffs. You will fit in here just fine mearly loving cuffs and shackles. Keep surfing the net if you want to build your collection, there are a lot of people who will be happy to sell you whatever you are looking for. Have you checked out Cannon's Great Escapes yet? They carry almost all of Ian McColl's recreations. If you are like me, and you like vintage designs or high security cuffs, Cannon's Great Escapes is the place to go! Mike
