Jerome, Arizona

I traveled to Jerome, Arizona for a small get away and found this old copper mining town from the turn of the century to the 1920's to be a delight.
Jerome, Arizona was a copper mining town of 10,000 people in the 1920's and as the ore deposits ran dry, the town almost became a ghost town with about 100 people in the 1950's. At 5,000 feet above sea level, the town has a nice breeze and moderate temperatures.
Jerome had the largest copper deposits in the world.
Located 100 miles north of Phoenix, the town transformed into a tourist mecca with art galleries, bars, restaurants, and other retail shops.
I had hoped to find some cuffs in at least one of the antique shops but even though there was tons of cool stuff to look at, no new cuffs for the collection.



I did find the Jerome "Sliding" Jail though.



The jail slid from the location on one of the town's streets to its current location 225 feet away.





Even though I came up empty handed, it was an awesome day.
