I have never done such a thing before.
Do you know the best way to do this?
I have an iPhone 6. I wonder how much recording time I have with this.

No, I got whatever the next size down was as I only record very brief things and very infrequently at that.
I wish I recorded a car chase that I was 10 feet from recently.
A "Ton" (an actual measurement of weight)of cop cars were chasing an old Mercedes which then crashed into a very tall curb and then would not comply with orders to get down on the ground. San Diego's Finest made sure that they got on the ground real quick. I learned some new words too.
As I was at the light, I was certain that the bad guys were going to be tuning left and hit me but there were just going to fast to navigate the turn.

I can look up how much time I have on my phone and if I can use an external microphone so that I can minimize the ambient noise from the audience.
Maybe I can dig up my old VHS cam-corder too.

Mark, Is the use of the word ton here a hypothesis or just a loose use of the word because you couldn't see all the cars. It would be best if you were clear this time.

After the cops took the undesirables to the Central Jail, I asked the officers who were involved in the chase if they wouldn't mind driving over to the truck weigh station down the road so that we could weigh each of the vehicles and come up with a total weight as I was under scrutiny for being an unreliable reporter of the facts, here at the forum.

Since this is being reported on a handcuff forum, the weight of the involved cars needs to be verified. The Chief of Police, understood the logic of this and authorized the measurement taking as he certainly did not want this to get out of hand on a handcuff forum. Not only that, but it serves a double purpose as the defense attorney might just ask about the weight of the cop cars during the defendant's trial.

I used the report from the California Department of Weights and Measures to validate that there was precisely a "ton" of cop cars (each going Code-3) following the defendant's car.

Please view this YouTube video of the Scott Klem lecture regarding ancient Roman manacles and fetters.
This well presented lecture is helpful in identifying restraints in the Animal Hobble/Slave or Prisoner Irons debate.
This video contains most of his lecture and my IPhone ran out of memory when it was about 4/5 complete.
We missed some question and answers at the end of his lecture but most of that info is in his book.
The audio is not perfect but is adequate.
I will start another blog so that this great information can be easily searchable for future research or for additional comments.
The most interesting fact that he revealed was that these puzzle lock leg irons were in use around from the B.C. days all the way up to and just after the Civil War. In a private conversation, he stated that animal hobbles were used to keep animals from running away and almost never used to secure them to a stationary object or other animals.
Therefore, restraints which required a key were used for human restraining and those which did not have locks were for animal control.

He has a limited amount of his books available for $25. There were 250 books printed and I will give ordering details and contact information in the new blog.

I am glad that it was suggested that I record this as I doubt that I would have done so on my own as I have never posted to YouTube before and thought is was more complicated than I found it to be. Most videos have a limitation of 10 or so minutes but I easily found out how one can extent that limitation to a much greater one.

I watched his lecture and found that he covered known ground and used materials already extant and available. Meaning, no great or new revelations here at all. I also noticed that some of his information was incorrect.

Ben, I believe that the are other websites other than Handcuffs.org, which would be much more to your liking! Maybe spend some time browsing thru the books in your local library's children's section!
