Craig Nippers

Hi all,

Once again I have been MIA for a while. Missed you all.

Anyway, this past weekend I was at the Las Vegas gun show and spotted a heretofore, for me, unknown set of nippers. I'm not much of a nipper guy but have a few of the ones I find interesting. So, these were interesting, obviously very old, nice shape and unknown to me. I made a deal with the fellow and walked away looking at them scratching my head.

Took some pics and sent them to buddy Damon asking what they were. As to be expected he immediately wrote back and said they were very rare Craig nippers, I also needed to hurry up and buy a lottery ticket as it was my day.

Patent # 250,208, Nov 29,1881. These are "Pat Pending".

I showed them to Ron Daniels, also there, and told him they were Craig's. He found a drawing in the green magician's escape book (can't think of the author right now) and there was a drawing but didn't exactly look like the nipper. Got home and looked at the patent drawing and sure enough, the patent drawing is what is in the book so the author hadn't seen one. Final product was different from patent submission.

Am feeling confident that I can get Damon to post pics for me so you should be able to look at them.

Anyone know of others?

Joe G. I'm a bit out of touch. Are you doing a new book or redoing the patent book. Seems like it had a pretty good pic in it. Anyway glad to let you use pics anyway you need. How do I get your email address and are the ones posted here good enough or would you need better?

However I actually was telling Joe Lauer he could use them, if he wanted to.

Looks like I'm not going to be able to start that Craig Nippers Collectors Association that I was wanting to do.
