A very ingenious thing is my opinion because he created a entire added feature which never exist before this. But other companys do have this feature but some dont. Same person who before showed the shim thing I told to you to see if it is genuine or fake. This is so impressive to my mind.
Of the 8.5 years “I was on the street”, and now a retired investigator, I never back loaded my handcuffs.
Yep the older cops told me about back loading however I finally just swung the single arm through till it was just ready to leave the two arms (S&W mostly).
What worked for me was to touch the persons wrist with single arm about a ¼ to a 1/3 way towards the hinge, once I felt contact, I pushed the handcuffs, with a smooth motion, pushing the lock body towards the wrist.
If done properly the single arm will swing around with force to capture the wrist, additional clicks then could then be applied.
Finesse not force, when done properly it will appear to be one swift fluid motion, remember touch with the single arm then push at that slight angle.
Remember this application is a controlled push and not a slap of the single arm on the wrist, which can hurt.
If some of the teeth of the single arm are filed down you might lose the ability to secure some people who have smaller wrists.

In the Police Academy they wanted to see the wrists out, behind the back, with both keyholes up.
Heck, on the “street” just get them on any way you can, you can later apply another pair in the proper orientation before removing the first pair.
You do carry more than one set don’t you?
