I have an opportunity to buy these, and was hoping for some advice. I collect various old interesting items but I'm not familiar with handcuffs. They are apparently marked Hiatt 7, although I haven't had the chance to view them yet. Can anyone give me an idea of their age and what to check when I see them up close? If anyone can give me an approximate value that would be great, but not essential - I'm not sure what the etiquette is on giving values on this site!

These cuffs are very common so they are not all that valuable. They would sell for $60-$75 or so on eBay.

How old would they be? The seller is claiming turn of the century, but they look newer to my eye....as I say, I don't know my cuffs.

I'll see how I go...It's good to have a ballpark figure to work from. I suspect they will sell over their worth simply because although they may be fairly common, they are unusual & interesting for a rural West Australian sale!

Definitely odd to find in WA. Look for 'broad arrow' mark when you get them. Always a chance they are police or prison.
