In these times, it is easy to fall prey to internet scams. So to start again with other info, I have been to the Peerless Company located in West Springfield, MA. and spoke to the owner, a Mister Peter Gill who has been at the helm since 1993. He knows the widow I spoke of and of course, her husband who built the Model 400 and currently holds the patent. As I have already stated, I am inquiring only to help the lady. If anything, you might understand that patience might be prudent. I am trying to find links to possible buyers of this product. When I get information from the widow, I will gladly pass it along. Once this is established, she and her family will deal directly with interested parties.

It seems that what I say and how you read it are different. I started down this road with the intent of helping "the widow", to be now called Peggy. After speaking to the owner of Peerless, he strongly suggested this forum. Let's see. A lovely story, with no pictures, information and no contact info. Well there is ME. Pictures? To be discussed with Peggy and family. Specific info? What part of "New in Box" confused you? And the best one, Fresh water or Salt? Nicely done. As I have said, I am into this less than a week trying to help someone I just met in our coffee group. I guess I am the front man. I am the guy asking for some help as far as, who do I reach out to. What type of market am I looking at? And the other response. "Peerless #400" just became DE-valued. instead of being returned to the factory after they were recalled". The gentleman who holds the patent, fabricated the parts and metal assembly of the Model 400 was a machinist. He was the husband to Peggy. He was the "factory" to which they would have gone back to. Previous posts said patience. This is the very beginning of this plan to sell off her inventory. We, or at least I call that " figuring out where to start". If this Forum is the place to start, then I think it is going to be a long road to travel. I will have to sift through answers that are helpful, and those that feel their answers are just so cute. Oddly enough, everything I have said regarding Peggy, her deceased husband, the business, and Mr. Gill, president of Peerless is true. So if it is possible, perhaps helping, instead of your comedy club thoughts might be more in line.
If you have any real questions that I can get the answers to, please let me know.

My apology Richard, I can see I was all wrong now you gave us the code-name for the widow who you said will be now called Peggy. This makes all the difference.

On another vector. Yes this is the right place, a good start if you will. But your approach leaves no trust in its wake. Nobody can google the history of names, make calls, verify any of it. Maybe if you had a patent number and full name of the deceased and his surviving wife so people can either look them up their self or contact you (which would require you offer contact details for yourself bt way).

Trust me, once upon a time there was once a little known gentleman who crafted some handcuffs and patented them himself rather than leave it to the company who they were being made for. One day this man died and left his wife with 100 boxes of pure genuine "#400" handcuffs and since safe-words were useless without a partner, decided to sell them. Along comes a spider who offers to help the widow shift all the handcuffs and he turns to the interwebs, naturally. He travels to a dedicated handcuff forum and strikes up a vague story which upon further correspondence of doubt and mistrust is elaborated with more vague and unverifiable information. This was to be expected as spiders weave the best webs to suck people in. Then in next chapter, the spider will create a new email address and using an acquired paypal account will accept payment on behalf of the widow and promptly buy bitcoins with the paypal that was unwittingly donated to him. The spider lives happily ever after.

Maybe if you had provided specifics, actual contact details for you you would have some credibility.

no, not that I know of, the model was discontinued due to brittleness of the cuff.

I have the Peerless 400 Belly/Waist Chain (sort of)...

At the time I needed an "extra-long chain" handcuff, and so I cut off the "chain ends" to give me one pair of Peerless 400 handcuffs - with a 25" chain between each cuff.

Of course, if I had known that the 400 would be discontinued so quickly..I wouldn't have done that!

I have been talking with Peggy via email, now. She is very close to selling what she has left of the Model 400 cuffs. She is trying to find a fair price per pair before she starts letting them go.
