No they are a hiatt cuff the same as the speedcuff the police use here same company only diffrence is that they have the option to be folded in the middle so to be more covert or just to take less room i guess. The reason the police here dont use them is one i would say cost as they are over double the cost of the speedcuff and also because the speedcuff has been the issue cuff now for so long the police have just stuck with them.

These are used by some UK police forces. Once opened they lock rigid so appear very similar to standard rigid cuffs.

So they are real. I perhaps will try to find some for me. I worried they were fake but now they are real and I feel better of their now. So is price the only reason all england police dont use them or other reasons why they use full rigid ones? Seem to me they have every feature and more to than the regular rigid has.

price is usually the reason! Some cuffs have been advertised with slogans like "what price is an officers life" and then the better cuff companies fail due to lack of sales or in house fighting. so the answer to the slogan company is " not much or cheap" and 'just meeting the grade' cuffs with standard universal keys are widely used instead.

Its actually my video! They are the real deal. I have only ever seen 1 member of the UK police force with a pair. They take the same standard key as the rest of the TCH line I have. Very good quality handcuffs. Very impressed and I love them.

Oh would you just look at those! Just look at em'. It's red versions of my black ones :P kind of.I prefer black though. Black's my colour. Normally I don't get black cuffs though due to the apparent higher maintenance. I am not sure how much more they need but I only have black alcyon and now 850 TCH. But I have to say I love them. Not cheap at all though.........

Any idea of the amount of extra maintenance required due to them being oxide blackened? Is it a significantly higher requirement for re-oiling the internals?

Is there any pictures of the 850 without all the plastic screwed on? I found what the 840 looks like but I do not know what the 850 looks like.
