Is this a safariland thing? Or is this also something in TCH cuffs. The cuff in question is essentially the HIATT UL1 or TCH850. I am just curious if that added protection of a leaf spring is in the TCH 850 and if it is in any other TCH model.

#2Hiat use a split leaf spring. oddly split in two on the side that touches three pawls. doesn't achieve what it was supposed to.

Can I see this inside? I do'nt have tools to open inside handcuffs to discover the inner area.
