Can someone clear this up? Alcyon vs Pro-Cuff?

Aren't these the same? The bloke at the ebay store says he went looking to china to make cuffs but the only company who could manufacture them for him at decent build quality was Alcyon. I am not sure, maybe that is true but I have never heard of a retail outlet contracting a known manufacturer of handcuffs to make their own design, when even Alcyon's official website have the same looking one on there.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Is it likely that this outlet in the UK would design.. I can't even type the rest it's so unbelievable to me.

I've seen sellers list other brand names with their item just to get people to look at what they're selling. That seller also lists Hiatts and others, and those cuffs are not Hiatts.

Just another sales trick, l suppose.

But on the phone he said Alcyon make them for him as the actual makers but they are his cuffs called Pro-Cuff. This is what confuses me.

You can see Alcyon 5005 on Cuffsland.com site. They are same as Ebay ones.

It's not exactly the 5005 Model. You can see a reinforcement bar in the bow, as for the old "c" Hiatts variants (2010c, or here, a 2050c equivalent).

Tougher, but not "swing through", as a counterpart. It seems the "c" cuffs were used for prisoner transport. Maybe a special order here ? So it could be an interesting collectible item in fact.

Can you please explain this reinforcement bar in the bow? I am not sure what you mean. They look the same to me. Can you circle it or something and show me? I'm really interested in the difference.

I looked and finally see that 2010C. The ones I showed on eBay do not have that. One of their other images you can see the marks on the interior of the double bow area. So I dont think they have a reinforcement bar.

Seems their rigid ones they list (as they said on the phone but I forgot) do state Pro-Cuff on the plastic area where it says Alcyon. It also says ENGLAND on it. Could it be these guys really are making handcuffs to the spec of that outlet? The confusing thing is even on Alcyon's main site they show those rigid handcuffs with Pro-Cuff and ENGLAND written on the plastic area. Strange, since they are a Spanish company... Maybe a deal that makes the custom design cuffs cheaper for the outlet by allowing Alcyon to also sell them or something?
