The bi-annual European Handcuff Convention did not happen in 2016. I am prepared to ask one specific venue if they would be prepared to host the Convention late summer or fall 2017.

Are there any dates one should avoid because of similar conventions elsewhere?

It would follow the pattern of previous EHC. Convention on the Saturday. Restaurant get-together Friday and Saturday evenings would be possible on site. Venue also incorporates a hotel, and can be easily reached by motorway, railway station in town, closest airports Frankfurt and Cologne.

Dear all,

The 6th European Handcuff Convention has a venue.

Location is Herborn. That is in Germany, to a good approximation halfway between Frankfurt and Cologne.

Probable and preferred date 21 October 2017.
TBC as October 14th and October 28th would also be possible.

I've talked in person to the manager. The venue owners were in earshot range. Need to write an email now.

Venue has room, restaurant, hotel, and is reasonably priced. Details to follow.

A quick update. After one week there was no reply to my email. When I queried whether the email had arrived, I got a short but nice answer that yes, and due to full house this week, meaning they are extremely busy, the quote was not ready yet but that is actually was on top of the to-do pile.

As I wrote earlier, personal agreement was reached on that weekend.

Hello all,

Probably the EHC2017 will happen 13 to 15 October which is one week earlier than tentatively announced, as I now have a PDF quote for 13 to 15 October and I have one month to accept this.

I do currently inquire of why this shift happened. When I had queried on site, my understanding was that 21 October would be feasible but there just was the availability question of venue room one, venue room two being a safe backup. This is why I tentatively announced this date.

Convention fee will be around 50 EUR which I will collect. This includes refreshments during the day of 14th October, the venue room and such.

The hotel room booking you do directly with the venue. Preferential rates will be around 65 single and 95 double per night, available until September 1st via a booking code.

You also pay evening restaurant meals (a la carte) yourself.

As I still query about the date shift this is not yet an official announcement.
