1st Model Tower

Does anyone have an early model Tower similar to this one?

I am concerned about the rivets that is present and wonder if this cuff had been taken apart and repaired at some point in the past or if these rivets are just inserted this way.
I have another cuff similar to this but it is nickel plated and the rivets do not show.

As these early model cuffs are on the rare side, I have not seen or handled very many of these.

If you have one of these, please let me know if you have the exposed rivets like this or if your example is finished off a little nicer.

My cuff has exposed rivets also, but not as much as yours. This is because my cuff has more patina.
I believe that your cuff is ok. A nice example of the way they are.

the rivets are visible because of the composition of the steels and the age of the cuff, no more no less. don't put fanciful stories in when not needed, it's not church time.

Hey, Mark. Hope all is well out your way. Looking at the pic you provided of the first model Towers, above, are you sure that these are the first model? If you look in the Handcuff Gallery on this page, the first model Tower Bottom Key that it shows, has a different style of chain. It shows the 2nd model as having the 3 link wafer chain. Also, if you look at that picture in the gallery, you can see the rivets look shinier than later tower models. They are very similar to what your pics shows. I also have a set of bottom key towers with a wafer chain. Mine show the same rivets as yours. I am thinking that the rivets in your are the ones from the factory. I dont think yours has been altered. Just my two cents.

Mark.....mine look quite similar to yours but the rivets are not as pronounced.

HI MARK, my 3 pair have the rivets also all though like the others said very smooth and some not showing due to patina !
