How is the Alcyon universal joint?

I mean in terms of strength and durability of security? It looks visually like a good crack against the edge of a building, on the brick, would trivially snap that single joint (hinge)?

If anyone has any thoughts or experiences I would welcome reading them. An example model is Alcyon, Model No 5031
