take a look at the lockbody size. it is larger, the bows dont fit flush diameter with lockcase

Don't take this as gospel but I think I have my facts straight in saying that the first model has "pat. applied for" on one of the bows and the second model has the pat. date stamped on the back of the lock case. that is on the opposite side of the key hole. There appears to be slight variations in the physical dimensions of the cuffs because Bean used at least two different manufacturers. We need someone with more expertise than me to weigh in on this.

Much appreciated fellas. Judging by the criteria, mine is a model 1. But, it doesnt have any patent info on it. It just has the weird stamp that I posted in an earlier thread about Bean Giants. It appears to be a seller's mark underneath the plating. It says "The Pettibone Bros MFG Co."

Thanks! That is the same info I was able to dig up/. I also found a mention of a fireman products catalog and a police equip catalog published by them. I cant find it now. Not sure where it was on Google. This was a while ago.
