Does anyone know likely what model they are and how old they may be?

Hi there was a good post on this a few years back that covered when they changed to handcuff co and when fond du lac was used and so on. Not sure whats happended to the search bar if its just my phone or it has gone but would of linked it if could if you can dig this post out will answer the questions. All the best martin

I see similar ones on this page:http://handcuffs.org/gallery/gallery_a-c.html but the ones I have purchased do not have "Munitions" on them, it is the Handcuff Co ones. I am really unsure. The person obtained them from someone else in the mid 80's. Seemingly there are no model numbers or serial numbers on them.

I did find some topics on here but only mentions of the wording, no actual timelines from what I can tell, aside from mentioning that they were bought by ASP in 2002/2003

In 1968, Tom Tobin, Sr. changed his company's name from the "American MUNITIONS Company" to the "American HANDCUFF Company" --due to the anti-war activists at the time.

Safe to say, these cuffs are no earlier than 1968..and made anytime up through 2003, when the company ceased.

I like them more than I expected I would, as usually I only buy modern handcuffs. But I had a program running that I threw together to watch the collections area of ebay for handcuffs and I saw these and at the price they were going for I could not resist it. My hope is they would be worth something to people if/when I eventually sell them. For now I plan on keeping them for a while.

I would be interested in people's thoughts of how much these may be worth?

Sadly, they arent worth a lot in today's market. Here in the states, Ebay has them quite often. They will usually sell between $25-$40 depending on the pair and their condition. They are a great cuff. Nice weight to them. Nicely made and typically smooth operation. I have several in the collection. I would hold on to theem for now. Even if they arent worth a lot, they are still a nice piece to have.

They are indeed a nice piece to have. I primarily got them due to the price. I have done a search in sold items on eBay and not found any AHC cuffs. Those legirons look nice.

Based on the images and the video, are these actually black handcuffs? Or is it a patina that has developed which is darkening the cuffs? The pictures from eBay do not look that dark, yet to the eye that are decidedly dark. Even my video does not show them as dark when looked at straight on, as the eye actually sees??

Would you say that is actually a black pair of cuffs? Or a steel pair with patina on? (not sure if the original non-black were steel or nickel plated steel or what on earth??)

I would say they are a black pair as i do also have a pair that are the same also would say that whilst they pop up on bay usa on bay uk its few and far between as with most us cuffs and for this reason fetch more money and tend to have a fair amount of bids. most cuffs seem to be almost double the us price and with postage being alot now it also adds up to import especially for cheaper cuffs that would cost $25 then €25 to have posted then a customs charge of about £10 wheres a pair of them on uk site may go for £40ish working out cheaper but still costly. So thinking back on it i would say £35-40 is about the norm uk. Seen a pair of leg irons that match got for £40 few weeks back.
