Indianapolis Lock Show report

I am back from the Indianapolis lock Show. I've been going for 25 years and I think this was the slowest of all of them. The only handcuff collectors there, besides myself, were Mark Lundblad and Chuck Chandler. Howard Hunt was also there, but I don't consider him a collector. He is into bondage and getting swing thru cuffs to work more smoothly. I came home with a single Bean cuff with chain and loop exactly like shown in the catalog. It was used for transporting prisoners on the railroad. It looks brand new and has original key. Small size cuff, but swivel is thicker than standard for this cuff. It has the "T" and 1882 and 1884 dates. I also found a nice Cake Co. Thumbcuff, which is a duplicate. Most of the other cuffs that were there were common Peerless style junk. The most interesting find was a 1944 H&R catalog showing the "Super" cuff and Leg iron, and their new lightweight cuff. I have not seen it in a catalog before, and I only know of one example of the "Ruttiman" cuff.
Lets see if I can get a picture posted of the Bean cuff.

That's a real nice cuff you left with, and with the original key. Quite rare, I bet. It looks like that alone probably made your trip worthwhile. Good going!
