Here is a set of handcuffs I could use some help with identification

The son of an Ohio collector has asked me to help him sell his father's collection.  I have been able to identify and list some of his items, eBay ID erestraints.

This one is causing me trouble.  The ratchet bows and central lock case make me suspect that it is more modern handcuff.  Short of carbon dating is there anyway guess an age?  Does anyone, by change know who made this set?

They are German Berliner style cuffs, or Muehlenfelds. They date from the 1880s to the early 1900s. I'm sure most people here like Lars or Michael can offer more precise information than that. Or check out Lars' article on Joe's handcuff.org website.

I'm afraid I'm a little disappointed you seek the forum's advice on cuffs and then list them exclusively on the bay. Are you so fond of the fees, their restrictions or their customer support? I'm sure collectors hee would also make reasonable offers.

Sorry to hear that you are disappointed that I use eBay.  I have been a member on this forum since 1998, yet have never really gotten the feeling that the collectors here are shopping here.  eBay offers protection and a known market place where sellers have reputations.

I am not 100% dedicated to eBay, it has just been the best platform for me.  If someone made a good offer on a listing that had no bids I would be more than willing to end the auction and sell direct.  Truth be told I did not think anything I listed today would be of interest here.

Just for fun I will hold off on listing the cuffs pictured above for a week.  If anyone here is interested please let me know what your offer is.  Again, my impression was that this was an informational site, not a market place.

You do have some really great cuffs for sale right now.  Anyone who is trying to build a collection should check them out.

This is a Mühlenfeld 113, AKA "The Dortmunder". A photo of the top would be great. It seems like the top of the cuff is missing but that's maybe only
an illusion. Also the key is not the original. I can't tell anything about prices as prices goes up and down. Ten years ago I paid $1800 for my cuff with original key.
