Scold's Bridle Brank - Any ideas on age or value?

Hello All,

I know this is not a handcuff, but I was thinking someone here might have knowledge about this kind of thing.  It is from a collection of an Ohio escape artist/collector who's son is liquidating.  Any ideas on age, value and ways to tell if it is a genuine artifact of centuries gone by or a more modern reproduction?  Offers are welcome.

This is a replica and a poorly made one at that. The hinges are added and not forged and the rivets appear to be flat head nails. Worth about 200 tops on a good day. Steve Santini
