I received this pair of handcuffs from another collector who, without checking them, thought they were working fine. Come to find out, even though they had never been used before, the double lock on one of the cuffs fails to engage adequately to stop downward movement of the bow, in certain spots. The cuffs have been cleaned and lubricated correctly but the problem still persists.
2 questions;
1. Does anyone know how to repair this, since the double lock seems to work on the top and bottom of the bow but seems to have a problem locking properly in the center, barely?
2. Can anyone give me a history of handcuffs from Spain, especially E.I.C. and since these handcuffs look so much like Jay Pee, are they related? History of all of this would be appreciated.
Our extensive collection has similar cuffs but not with this brand name and I can't find any historical information about this company on the internet. Thank you! Ken
