Extremely Rare factory gimmicked 1890’s Victorian Age Hiatt handcuffs w/ original matching key and in mint condition.
The handcuffs are tricked for escape artists and appear to have been done at the factory.
The item comes with a key and everything is in perfect condition.

I will go out on a limb and guess that the locking tooth has been filed. You can see that its pretty tapered, in the pic that shows the cuff open. Similar to a bridge jumper type gaff.

not all english cuffs were nickel...some were polished, some oiled, some nickeled, some chromed.    this does not appear to me to be replated in any way . 

In the 1890's cuff weren't chromed, either it's an old cuff replated or a 50 year old chromed cuff, cannot be both

Commercial chrome plating was developed by Fink & Eldridge at Columbia University in 1924, and was based on a 1920 paper by Dr. George J. Sargent. In very simple terms, Sargent discovered that in order to electroplate chromium you need almost exactly 1 part of sulfuric acid to 100 parts of chromic acid.

correct, Hiatt plated a lot of restraints, these were not re plated

the error is in your title. 'Hiatt 1890's Solid Figure 8 ' The cuff are either from the 1890's and been replated with chrome. OR the cuff are not 1890's but much later and chrome. Cannot be both.

Oh,,,well then it didnt come out the way i meant to word it as 1890s style . 

I have reduced the asking price to 275

with many using this site as a reference tool, it is better to give accurate information
