Anyone ever work on newer cuffs?

I have a pair of s&w 1900 leg cuffs that i have had for over 20 years. The double lock has become supper easy to lock. Unlocking with the key is almost as easy but not as much. These were the first leg cuffs i ever bought so they have some sentimental value and may just buy another set and put these in the back of the drawer . I dont know if s&w could repair them since im just a privet joe and not a l.e.o agency. I know they replace ones that are broken or had a defect, these have just been used alot. Anyone ever send it cuffs before for repair? Of any brand?

I would think any lube would make it even less effort to lock the double lock slide. Im telling ya, i think i could just bump it on the ground to lock it and unlock it. It feels like there is no spring tension at all on the double lock slide any more. My concern is the double lock coming undone while walking or and forward movement and then allowing it to tighten up tighter. Without a key to loosen it that could be very, very problematic for the wearer, namely myself.

Was sure hoping someone had taken one apart on here to see how hard it would be.

Here, I'll help you out.............. buy a new one and don't be cheap!  Getting it repaired is going to cost someone! You or someone else who puts time and effort into it. How hard is this one to think up an answer for this? really? 

You might want to check with Smith and Wesson.  They might be under a lifetime warranty.
