Extra security for standard cuffs

Was wondering if any of you escape guys have tried this combo. First is just blocking the key hole with a modified key locked to the chain. Second is a block for the slide lock, locked with a small lock. Would love to hear if any of you have been able to pick your way out because as of yet i have not but i am no where near a escapologist or lock picker.

Maybe not so new technology : the old french (and german) cuffs used padlock instead of double lock or second lock as now.

I did something similar to a modern pair like that. But i drilled a hole for the padlock to go thru the double lock slide slot. Ive seen it done before and thought that was a good idea. One cuff worked fine but the other one got messed up. I think the drilled hole cut thru that slide bar that does the double lock. So i made the inserts that does the same thing and doesnt risk damage to the cuffs.

Those padlocks look like they would be a real challenge to pick also.

Ive done the drilling of the double lock slide on the Smith and Wesson M-100. Both sides work fine. I can pick tese, fairly easily. You are limited on the type and size of lock that will fit through these small holes. Steve Santini, created a cuff like this, years ago for his company. Thats where I got the idea for mine. I call it a "Triple Lock Cuff."

Hey Rich, the beauty of your arrangement is that the TSA can inspect your detainee without having to cut the cuffs off.  LOL!

LOL! Right!? I had these TSA Luggage locks laying around, and they fit, perfectly! LOL! I need to replace those, someday. But for now, "if it fits...it ships!" LOL!

What I also like about these WWII era Polizei Padlock Handcuffs is the non-standard key and incredibly tight keyway tolerance. Another nice feature is the single hoop link that precludes chain binding if worn in front. Mine came in like-new condition with the blackened bows from a surplus militaria outfit, though none came with the padlocks, and I always wondered what these looked like.

Did you notice that the holes only line up perfectly on certain locking positions?
