I just learned of an outstanding Kindle book that explains all of the early Peerless Handcuffs. This begins with the Patent Model (Marked 1912) and runs through the time Smith & Wesson stopped producing Peerless Handcuffs in 1940. The book is available on Amazon - "Early Peerless Handcuff Company with Smith & Wesson" by David Teeters. This book is an excellent resource with lots of factory documents from Smith & Wesson and Peerless. David did a great job in compiling the documents and explaining and showing the markings of each subsequent variation of Peerless Handcuffs as made by Smith & Wesson. For anyone interested in early swing-through handcuffs this book is a must.

#4I am no techy either and don't know much about kindle. If one purchases the kindle edition of this book, can it be printed out by my computer?
The book is only available in Kindle format but I don't know if they have some prohibition against printing.
I could understand a novel being done this way but a reference type book should be printable as I may want to resort to its contents periodically.
Do we know who David Teeters is? I don't believe I know the name.
Do a search on this site for "Peerless 1912 Handcuffs" There is a post from David on Jul 11, 2018 where he shares a few of the Smith & Wesson documents that are in his book. He also introduces his book. I missed this Post and just know became aware of the book. This is the first book I have ever viewed on Kindle, but I find it easy to use. It is stored on your computer once you buy it and you can refer to it any time. I don't think it is possible to print a Kindle book but someone else may know more about this.

also in my opinion technology has gone to far, and we need to put the breaks on it, example: more people are now killed by cell phone use while driving then by drunk drivers!
that's just not right!

I just purchased and read the kindle book. It is very informative. The reason for my purchase was to maybe find a little information about a set of Peerless handcuffs that I bough on eBay about 3 years ago. From what I read, they appear to be the Model 1, Version 7. They bear a 3 digit serial number (882) which appears on both cuffs. It was hard to take good pictures of these, but they are in nice condition, with over 95% of the plating remaining. What would be a fair price to ask if I were to sell them ? They have the key and the locks & double locks (keyway activated) work fine.
