For people with experience of Kyung Chang "eating" normal cuff keys

When the key got stuck, can you remember if you were unlocking the single lock or if you were attempting to undo the double lock?

there are two ways to get a stuck key out of Kyung Chang handcuffs:
Off-hand: Press a screwdriver against the locking pawls & turn back the free key.
On-hand: Turn the key back with force. Either it will turn back eventually - or the key bit will brake & move out off the lock case after some turning and shaking...

Yes. I heard about the issue and so I tried my standard key over and over and over and it seemed fine. But I was only testing the single lock. I double locked one and went to disengage it and the key went too far and was trapped with the handcuff in double locked mode. I could not do anything except take my pliers and force the key and it snapped the key's bit and let me shake out the bit of metal and it was fine. Luckily my key was slightly modified to widen the inner hole of the key and I split the bit to make it more compatible, so it was easier to get it to snap than it would have been if it were truly a standard handcuff key. Luckily it was not on a wrist, as I was testing them out. But I wondered if this happens to people from undoing the single lock or if it only happens as it did in my case by undoing the double lock. I have not been able to get them to eat a key by single lock disengagement.
