Yuil question

I have read on some websites that the key is different on some of these. Anyone know for sure? In particular the model M-11-1K. They also make a set in aluminum. Do they all take the same split key?

I have a set of M-01 chain link Yuil handcuffs.  They have a split key.

Yuil Handcuffs use the same split flag key. All of them i have (about 10), have the same key. The thumbcuffs use their own, special key as well. It has a small thin, little flag. The thumbcuff key is easy to break off if turned too roughly. Kyoung Chang is a brand of South Korean Cuff. They have standard single flag keys, double (split) flag keys and triple (split) flag keys. On all of the split keys, Yuil as well as Kyoung Chang, the key's flag can be easily broken since the flags are so thin.

@ DJ....Do you have one of the m-11-1k's?

Would really like some first hand knowledge because it seems even retailers are not 100% in agreement on this. I was told that any with the silicone liner also took a smaller split key but also told only the K's used the smaller key. Just wanting the bonafide truth before i buy a k model. Not that i dont believe you just would like to see them side by side if able

Looking closer at my Yuil cuffs, it seems mine are the older versions. I completely missed the part about the "K" in your original question. I was too quick to jump on the answer. My apologies. I do not have any of the "K" cuffs. I do remember it being discussed on the forum here, how the newest version of Yuil, used, not only a split key, but they key was smaller than a standard U.S. handcuff key. You use to be able to file the split into a standard key and use that. But, with the newest versions, the keys were smaller, similar to a Smith and Wesson M-104 size of key. I have the standard "M" versions and the "-1" versions. They both use a standard sized key, but the key's flag is split. I will try to find the post where the "K" versions were discussed on here.

There is a discussion and some pics of the silicone lined Yuils vs. the older Yuil Cuffs. It does appear that not only is the key smaller, the center bore of the key's barrel is larger. Yuil keys

I have the silicone lined ones, they have the standard split key. They are one of my most disliked cuffs actually, the silicone makes them rub more - more friction.

Here is a Yuil with 18" chain and classical split key.



Warning : the Kyoung-Chang key IS NOT a standard key ! If you don't use the factory key, there is a risk of jamming the lock, especially the double lock. I had the problem a few years ago, and only succeeded to remove the (US) key by pushing the double lock from outside with a pin (it is very smooth, happily).

I have the k series cut in chain and hinged. The key is standard size with split flags.

And yours are the K model? It seems as tho not all the ones with the silicone liner are the same.
