Walton Romer & Co Leg Irons

Hello All.  I am looking for a KEY or a pattern to make a key for the Romer Leg Irons.  Also, does anyone have info as to the two different sizes of Romer Leg Irons? Thanks, Shawn

You can probably find the way the key is cut by smoking it with a candle. If the cuffs are simply warded (no levers) just file away the marks left in the soot on the key. I have made many, many keys for antique padlocks and cuffs using this method. If you can find a patent drawing for them you should be able to see if it has a lever or two. You can still use the same method with levers, but it takes some patients, and a little skill. I believe those patent drawings are readily available on line. They may even show the key shape.  Amazon probably sells one.
