German made chain twister come along/nippers?

I just purchased/ordered one from ebay. The info put up describing it is as follows...

"WRIST CHAIN TWISTER. WWII GERMAN COME-ALONG PRISON-ISSUED. ALL-STEEL #2"

Based on the photos the vendor has up of it, there does not seem to be any markings.
I will, of course, search it for any markings when it arrives, but don't believe that search will turn up any.
All that said, are there any known traits they may have to help indentify what the history of this item is?
What does the #2 in the description mean, and is that something I should expect to find on the chain or handles?
Any insight you may be able to share about it, will be much appreciated... So much thanks in advance :)

Btw, the description also mentioned that they came from a German Prison auction.
And again, I will inspect it for any possible marks when it arrives, and will share my findings here at that time ☺

I have one of these for sale if anyone is interested.
I also believe these are German or East German.
Too bad they did not mark these in any way

Seems very close in appearance to the ones I have on order. I do believe your specimen has a higher number count of links.

Chain Twisters are so hard to place dates and origin of manufacture on. Since, they often have no markings. None of the ones, i have, have any markings. There are slight differences in the chains, handles, etc. But, they are basically the same. There are a few listed on the main library for this page. Out in the main menu, they are listed under the category "Nippers." Scroll to the bottom of the listings and you will see what has been cataloged there. Sorry that I am not much help on the topic of chain twisters.

Well, I sent an email to the seller to ask him what the #2 meant in his description, and it simply was that he was selling a few of them, and this one was #2 of his offerings.
So, there will not be any number two on this specimen coming to me, and likely no other markings as well.

I kind of thought that is what the #2 would represent. I completely forgot to include that in my last post. Its a common thing to see on Ebay when someone is selling more than 1 of a similar item.

I received the nippers today. They are exactly as pictured and described, and no markings were found, (as pretty much expected).
They are currently sitting in a bath of acetone, to loosen the spots of hardened grease still on them, but are really in absolutely great condition! No rust on them, just a slight gray patina overall. They seem to be bare steel, with no hint of ever having been nickel plated, as I see so often listed as these items being.
Anyhow, after it's little bath in solvent, they'll be getting a coating of light oil and to the collection she shall be going ☺

She's out of the acetone bath, and now absolutely bone dry, (all the grease removed). Next step is to give her a light coat of oil, and she'll be done.
I wonder if it's lack of a nickel plating was an average thing or not. In any case, the coating of oil I give her, plus my humidity and temperature controlled environment, should keep her looking good for posterity ☺

Here they are again after the light coating of oil was applied.
With a satin nickel plated S&W set next to them, one can see that the twister chain nippers were made and left in bare metal, (no coating or plating).
The links are obviously made of steel, but I don't know if the handles are made of steel, or a cast malleable iron.
One thing is for sure, the set is definitely bare metal.

my nippers have 1663 marking on the handle. any idea what that means?

The one I recently acquired is of East Community German origin, from storage. Based on the link I pasted above, yours look like they might be one the Stasi used. Mine are seemingly the ones marked as "East German VoPo, or Volkspolizei, chain twister, this version has polished aluminium handles and elongated, ergonomically shaped plated steel links."
