Found at an estate sale Help!

I found this at an estate sale and I have searched to find out what they are for weeks now with no luck.
Any ideas? Are they handcuffs, ankle restraints or something else

Markings are “PAT MAR 1813 W
GEO R WOOD” on one side and “ISBURY” on the other.
Markings are not 100% clear, but that is the best I can make out.
Material is a silver color- Stainless?

Any help would help solve the mystery

Nice find. They are George A. Wood chain handcuffs. They come in both brass and aluminum and are pretty rare. Did they come with a key?

Three known pairs of leg irons, at this time. Maybe a couple dozen sets of handcuffs. By collecting standards that’s pretty rare.

Try Ian McColl for a key. He’s in Australia but he’s very fast if he has any and he’s an all around good guy.

I wanted to take a moment and publicly Thank members of this forum for all the of the info on my George A Wood chain handcuffs that I got at an estate sale. There was no key, so I was referred to Ian who then referred me to Glenn. Glenn was able to help me out and provide guidance and now the the handcuffs work!!
All I need to do now is clean the chain up so I can sell on eBay.
