Other restraints/handcuffs specific forums on the internet?

As the title asks... Are there other restraints/handcuffs specific forums on the internet?
I ask because, thus far, this one is the only one I have run across online.
While this forum is great in that it is very specific on the topic, it seems very low in traffic, (very slow in new discussions/postings).
My guess for this situation is twofold...
I imagine one reason may be that restraint/handcuff collectors are truly a very small community. The other guess is that maybe the slow traffic here is because there are other forums on this topic that are possibly more frequented than this one.
I am in no way bashing this website forum, since I have been helped various times already with friendly responses by it's users here.
It's only it's limited participants that makes me wonder if there may be other sources to keep on one's list.

This site was great and always the place to go and many thanks to Joe Lauher for hosting it at his cost. There are lots of members here, There is always a high percentage of people who don't post because they don't have anything to add or knowledge ( which is new and worthy of comment) Instead they 'take' instead of give. Some come here just to show off their new items which gives them pleasure and self centered satisfaction. Like many sites, there are heaps of gutless anonymous people that try to make the argument, that they need to be anonymous. These are the ones that have destroyed the desire of many others to be involved and those just take a step back and read. I used to spend hour drawing pictures to explain stuff and document specific information on various brands of cuffs. Due to arseholes here that steal, modify and email out altered inform which is not theirs to edit, I don't post that types of stuff again. Years back you would see more posts but what tended to happen would be somebody would just reply with oh this post is pointless or this has been asked before and so on. I know personally it just put me off posting unless i felt i had to for the fact it would be spammed or told its annoying to have to read the same thing. I mean as far as im concerned its better to re read than not at all and if its that annoying skip the post and wait for the next one. I also think that it is a small community and wheres most subjects have many people that know something's handcuffs seem to have a few people that know a lot like real experts and then people that only know what they have learned from the experts so its almost like new knowledge is hard to come by. My 5 pence.

Mainly, to put it bluntly, attitudes and assholes have hurt this forum. A lot of the "senior members" are still here, but do not post or comment often.  Joe Lauher, puts up with all of us and still runs this page out of his own pocket. I can never thank you enough, Joe! I came about this forum, back around 2015 or 2016. It was slowly dying then, but still more active. Yes, we are a small community. Most times, when bidding on an auction, you are bidding against friends. It sucks at times. Im a "more fair" collector, i feel. I just want one example of each cuff, unless its a variation. So if its a Smith M-200 that has different stamping than mine, i will bid on it. But, i dont try to grab every M-200 that goes for auction as some do. I have no desire or room, to have 15 m-200 handcuffs. Some buy them because they like them, others buy for their own reasons. I have several conversations with other collectors about collectors who hoard certain cuffs.

I constantly trade up. I will buy a Hiatt darby. put it in the collection. Months later i will buy another, that is exactly like the first one, but in better condition. I will keep the 2nd and update the pics in my collection book and sell off the first.  Of course, not everyone is willing to do that. Which kind of hurts other collectors in my eyes. But, it is what it is. I have a lot of rare items, but always packing my wallet to hunt for new treasures. I live in Illinois. Guys down south of me, seem to have good luck with going to flea markets and antique shops. I do not. I have never found a usable cuff at a local flea market, and have only found 2 at local antique shops. LOL! The thrill is in the hunt tho! I use this forum often and sift through the back posts to find information. Im on the FB groups as well. One way i have found good stuff is by networking with other collectors. I have a friend who collects anything Coca-Cola. I keep my eyes open for things for him and he looks for restraints while he is out hunting. We send pictures back and forth when we find something. We have both sent each other, several nice treasures! I also have my name and info i have left with several antique collectors. But, the prices are typically higher, when i get something from them.

One thing that hurt a lot of collectors, was the sharp price drop after about 2012. You have thousands in your collection, one day, then wake up the next and realize its worth about half of what you put into it! That hurt. We just arent getting the young collectors who are interested in cuffs. A lot of the young folks are into cuffs for "bedroom games." Here, we are mainly serious collectors. We dont typically see eye to eye with people into it for fetish. As long as the conversations stay focused on cuffs and not what they do with them, they generally fit in on this forum. But, a lot of the new folks, dont care to know who made their cuff, just what they can do to their significant other while using it. LOL! Without the new guys stepping up and taking the reigns, the collections slowly die off. As collectors get older and pass on, there arent new guys to take their place. Sadly. Often makes me wonder who will take over my collection, when its time for me to go sit and have a chat with Harry Houdini. ;)

There are a lot of mature (older) fetish folk in the USA than you might consider. Some are just as serious about knowledge and their interest of cuffs other than the "feel of steel" Due to so much righteous and puritan insane ideology over there, they like many other groups don't put the heads up to be shot off.  When your mindset isn't corrupted by indoctrinated bullshit, you can comfortably know these nice people, share information and also learn. ....... In regard to repeated information, if your feelings are hurt by someone telling you that was posted last week or last month, then that is your personal issue to deal with and doesn't sound  very mature. I like to know when something has been repeated so I can go back and see what was written when the topic was new and hot for comments.

I was just curious to know why it was not a very busy forum, and if there are others that are.
My collecting hobby is not focussed on restraints, but rather just focussed on collecting representations of many objects that are new, vintage, and antique. Their only commonality to each other is that I find them interesting, and enjoy having them in my collection. Restraints are a small part of my collection, but I do find them to be just as interesting as all my other items.

what else do you collect and what is your oddest piece or most unique?

I have so many items in my collection, I would not be able to just choose any one item.
Here is just one example of the diversity of these items.
It shows a butterscotch colored mother of pearl clad antique French opera glass (circa 1880), and a mother of pearl/abalone handled Queen branded pocket knife (circa 2012).
My things just run the gamut

Here is a vintage Parker Cutlery Company Bowie knife made in Japan during the early 1980's.
It's mother of pearl handle scales give it that very cool look, in my opinion.
What do I collect?... Things that simply catch my eye ☺

I have acquired a some cuffs, mechanical nippers, and chain nippers during the past couple of months. They range from modern day (new), to vintage, to antique. I have purchased a display for them, and will eventually set up the new display housing them all (maybe having 11 to 14 restraints in it, by the time I'm done with it).
It won't be any really focussed display of any real sort. It will simply be a display housing the different restraints I've recently acquired.
Yup, the word eclectic definitely best fits my collection. I call it my "collection of interesting objects"

Very cool! Thank you for sharing a few pics of your collection! Some really interesting things in there. I like how you branch out and collect different things. I dont have the space to do that, since my restraint collecting has gotten out of control and consumed a lot of my living space! I think thats where hobby becomes obsession! LOL!

I do regularly chat with people who are considered to be "fetish People." Some of my best customers, have been. I have several very close friends who have amazing collections, but arent ashamed to tell you why they collect them. In my eyes, makes no difference to me. I like seeing new people getting into collecting. I try to help out where i can. Im pretty open and willing to talk about anything with anyone.

As far as oher forums, there is a german handcuff forum i found. I have only translated a few pages that had pics of cuffs that i own. Wanted to see what they were saying about them. As for the whistles in my collection, they are police, referee, taxi calling, dog, and other types. Again, no focus, just eclectic.
I also collect sand timers, magnifying glasses, brass knuckles, truncheons, pewter cars, drinking flasks, and other items ☺

Oh, btw... my collection is in fact very eclectic. That said, knives do outnumber the other items, so it simply makes them the biggest part of my eclectic collecting hobby.
