Finished displaying my small collection of Restraints...

As I have mentioned in some of my other postings, I am not a Restraint specific collector, but rather a person that collects a myriad of "interesting objects". No doubt the word eclectic comes to mind when I try describing my collecting hobby. One thing I like doing with my collection of "do-dads", is to incorporate them into my dwelling's interior decor. Well, today I finished up the last displaying of my most recent restraint acquisitions. I'm including pictures here of those, and all the others I have in my collection. I counted a total of only 17 pieces, so it of course is not a vast collection, only a small part of what makes up my "Interesting Objects Collection" ☺

As small of a Restraints collection as I have, some things are covered amongst them...

*Nickle plated
*Stainless steel
*Blued steel
*Chain nippers
*Mechanical nippers
*Standard sized handcuffs
*Oversized handcuffs
*Various countries
*Various trade brands
*Chain linked cuffs
*Hinged cuffs
*New, vintage, & antique

So, while few in total number of pieces, they represent a lot more than one would expect from it's small sampling ☺

Ps...
Forgot to mention that one of the Chain nippers is totally bare steel, not plated or finished with a final application of coating, plating, or other finish treatment. So, the collection offers that representation as well

I noticed the big difference in finish between the British Dowler nippers and the German #6 Clejuso nippers, compared to the German Heid & Roth nippers. While I had suspected that the Heid & Roth were chrome plated, rather than nickle plated, I wasn't totally sure. But, now having them displayed alongside the Dowlers and Clejuso, (which definitely have that tell tale yellow'ish nickle color to them, the Roth & Heid have that high silver/blue hue that unmistakably makes them chrome plated.
Well, I guess it's just another addition to the list of things covered in my tiny collection ☺

There is one set of Thumbcuffs representing in this collection, but I may be adding at least one more... Just to keep things interesting

I try my best to incorporate every new acquisition I obtain, into my decor. The exception would be my firearms, they being kept in my safe. Well, I do have some black powder repros in my decor, (a cap & ball revolver and a single shot Kentucky pistol), but they are it for displaying any of my "firearms".
I know that some may frown upon my objects being displayed, but for me, it's a totally uplifting thing to be surrounded by such objects of interest. It's like having my own little private museum, one that constantly brings a smile to my face, not to mention the smiles and awe that my visitors seem to get from it all.
It's that whole mentality of doing what makes one personally happy, and when others like it too, it's simply icing on the cake. When others don't like it, I take it only as muffled background noise, and continue ☺
I am now at over 60 different displays throughout my dwelling that houses my eclectic collection. Although the number of objects is always growing in some way, I try to keep the overall look artistic and controlled, not just bunched up in piles like some sort of hoarder
The diversity of my collecting hobby makes me learn about so many different things, and they always seem to intrigue all that enter my domain, since there is no way a person can enter and not see at least one type of object that somehow fascinates them ☺
