Harvard lock leg out irons question

Greetings, I have a chrome set of harvard lock cuffs. Seems the black oxide is most common. I was wondering if anyone has a chrome set of leg irons?

I have never seen a plated set of Harvard leg irons or handcuffs.

George Brett from Canada had a set of the plated leg irons, as well. By far, the blued (black) version is more common. I have only seen a handful of the plated cuffs from Harvard Lock Co. I have seen both the handcuffs and the leg irons in plated. I, however, still do not have a plated example in my collection. Congrats on the nice find!

I will post my set, they were definitely military police cuffs. How exciting, an odd Harvard lock cuff. They are all chrome. Thank you Richard for letting me know.

There is another bit of an oddity in the Harvard Lock Handcuffs. Ive seen it called a "Type 0." I dont know if thats what the factory referred to it as or not? Anyway, the chain is a large oval, were it connects to the cuff. Instead of the smaller link on the standard cuffs. I found this one, many years ago.

What does "leg out irons" mean?

I'm not a Harvard collector, but I have a pair of handcuffs & leg irons.
The box for the handcuffs has U. S. & a anchor on the end right corner, but I can't find any reference to the Navy on the cuffs.
The leg irons are marked U.S.N. 44

Most i have seen, dont have Navy markings directly on the cuffs, but the boxes were usually marked with USN or something similar. None of my pieces are marked as such, but two of my original boxes are.

Here are my harvard lock chrome cuffs that I got on ebay about a year ago. They are lettered A.J,S on both cuffs. Hard to believe there is a scarce harvard lock.

Very nice fred, most collectors dont have any chrome. I've never seen a chrome leg iron before. Thank you for sharing.

I just checked my collection. All mine are black finish. Only the handcuff has a Navy marking on the box.

Actually after auto-tone and adjusting the contrast in Photoshop it looks like one set of my leg irons may have that US marking on it?
